Trees with one leaf on them are interesting. I've seen trees that will hold one single leaf for several days, until the rest of the leaves have fallen and dried. I wonder if maybe the tree has some sort of genetic dominance in that single leaf, that maybe it truly is stronger and more adaptable to the coming winter weather in only that particular leaf. An argument for darwin maybe, or maybe it is just some freak thing. It's probably just a freak thing.

I had a dream last night. Something I should note is that I have not remembered a dream in weeks, months maybe. I was in a boat, in flooded new york city. I had a friend with me, an old friend, the kind of friend that you forget about until you realize they were your only true friend. The boat we were in was some sort of makeshift butchered car that had its top removed. I was in the backseat, along with my friend. We sat outside an apartment house, the building front was black and the hallway into it was red. If I leaned forward enough I could see in to the corridor that led to the buildings center, a long twisting staircase, blood red carpet with black rails.

Ahead of us was a girl floating in the water. Blond hair and a red zippered hoodie. She was dead but she kept opening her eyes. She was also a friend of mine.

The kind of friend that you forget about until you realize they were your only true friend.
