Seeing as how I usually forget my New Years resolutions by Groundhog Day, I opted out of making any this year. But, the holiday season being a time of peace and renewal, I have tried to make an effort to be a better friend to those I love and to let go of the old grudges I carry around with me.

I bought lunch last week for an old friend. It was an olive branch of sorts, under the pretext of tying up mutual loose ends, and it was accepted. We have, though, agreed to keep our distances, rather than becoming fast friends again. Its a little sad, the space between us, because I have so many fond memories of the times we spent together, and I know for all the harsh words we've said, there is still a simple love that passes between us.

I can only hope all my other reconciliations go so well.

Just droppin in to say hello. I am in the computer lab at school right now. I ordered a dsl modem and I should be connected in a couple of weeks, so I won't be posting any more until then.

The trip down here was the most grueling, tiring, awesome, and difficult to remember trip(heh) I think I have ever taken. I had a hell of a time trying to cross the canada/america border, the put us in a room (my roommate, me, and a travelling companion), took our keys, and proceeded to ransack and search through everything we own. When they came back, an hour later, they had concluded that while they found several high times magazines, a dog-sniffing test revealed no contraband. So, basically, they wasted an hour of our time. Not just any hour, an hour spend in anguish, worrying about things I may have forgotten. It was hell.

But anyways, Portland is beautiful. I love it. An example of why I adore this city: I was walking down some street (I don't recall the name) in southeast portland two days ago when I walked up to a record store. Above it was a sign listing events, we just happened to walk up at the exact moment that a band started playing. So, we went in and listened to the crack city rockers play for around an hour or so. It was fucking great. I bought a cd of theirs and will post some songs when I get the internet connected.

alright. I am done for now. Back to wandering the streets.
